Roy Lewis - Easy Reading
Roy Lewis's novels about Arnold Landon, a County Archaeologist who gets involved in mysteries via his work. Pretty non-violent and more about clues than action.
A sort of Country House Mystery meets Time Team!I am not young enough to know everything.

Margaret Yorke is an English Crime Fiction writer. She's written loads of books and they're well written but easy to read. I highly recommend her.
