yep the Gun is very nice..if pricy!
If you follow the Thames Path West, between Limehouse and Canary Wharf is a nice pub called 'the grapes'. It is small and does claim to be one of the oldest in London (dont they all?) but I can recommend their fish and chips. You can relax and have a pint overlooking the Thames. Very nice!

There's only two worth visiting - The Grapes and The Prospect - trust me... I was at college at Queen Mary's in the seventies and did extensive research :-)
