hello all
any suggestion as to what work best for glueing a piece of teak to aluminium out on deck?
no load on it
just have to withstand sun and rain and not fall off after awhile
i am thinking epoxy then paint as thats what i have on hand
??

Sikaflex or similar PU adhesive is probably best. Check the datasheets to see if it needs primer for the best result. But if you only degrease the wood It 'll probably stay put for a while.

Epoxy or 3M 5200 if you want something in a tube.
If you go the 5200 route please note that it will be permanent
as the wood or the aluminium will break before it does.

have used sikaflex to stick mahogony to my ali mast, and it aint coming of in a hurry.!!

I have bits of wood stuck with Tech7 in my cockpit locker.I tried hanging off one and it didn't budge.I weigh 80kgs and the piece of wood is about 15cmx3cm.I believe that any modern construction adhesive/sealant will produce pretty much the same result.

Acetone on the teak part that faces the boat would help, too, regardless of what adhesive you use.

Acetone on the aluminum as well to degrease it.
