They shouldn't be allowed to do it at all - GPS has become a public service that people use for all sorts of things. Its s bit like the council removing all the road signs for a week.

What are the symptoms?
Okay, I'm in Skye near the S end of that area I think. If the jamming spills over their announced area, what might my gps do? Would it not get any fix at all? Or could it show a false, misleading fix?
Anyone got a clue what to look out for?

Symptoms will depend on your GPS receiver. Hopefully you will get a warning message. Otherwise the first sign of change would an erratic or zero SOG reading
