A friend at Marconi SC on the Blackwater had his Rutland 503 and pole nicked from his yacht, which is ashore, between Sunday 30th Oct and Wednesday 2nd Nov. We have CCTV over the whole site so the culprits photos will be with Essex police by now.

Seems to be loads of stuff getting stolen recently... is it credit crunch or xmas.

It's not the credit crunch, it is the fact that it get darker earlier and the snots are out thieving before bedtime.

Sadly, the trick is to set an alarm or remove anything of value out of sight.

One of our boats had 2 lockers busted open on its swing mooring on River Blackwater the other week.
Not so much stuff that was stolen, more the damaged done.
Seems lots of petty theaving on and around Blackwater lately..
