Because those of us near the flat countries are affected by it, plus suspect it`ll spread.

Imagine if you were criminalised for leaving the Clyde.... would that cause annoyance?

Sorry I missed the tongue in cheek smiley. Just getting bored with the new posts every day about it going over the same old ground.

I talked with a broker about 2 weeks ago, briefly. MOBOs are not selling, sails are. With the cost of a respectable MOBO (30ft+) outing for (several) pints somewhere else on the Clyde heading for £120.. demand is wilting.

Demand for cooking oil might rise mind you
My son runs an old Sprinter on cooking oil quite successfully...

Will we have people sniffing the air for sunflower exhaust next?

    Dunno what the fascination is.

The motor boat mob seem to be taking it rather well though. Loads more threads on this side.

Surely a sailing vessel spends all of it's time under sail so does not use enough fuel to worry anyone.

it is the stated implementation by 01/04/2012 that is the problem. especially for East Coast boaters

Do not understand, as you use so little why is there a problem.

Also do not understand the 'especially for East Coast boaters'.

    What do you mean?
