I think that is what most people decide. You need a certain "convoy" mentality to enjoy it otherwise.

We even ended up keeping ours on a pontoon, rather than on the trailer, to save time. We only trailed her if going somewhere for a fortnight, or to lift out in winter. By the way, we used an Audi A4 2.5 TDI V6 Quattro as a tow car - now that was a fine vehicle, I wish I'd kept it!

Your Audi must have been near it's towing limit for that?

viable size
I had a 22 foot eboat
four wheel trailer
towed it to scotland twice behind a 1600cc sierra owned by IPC
engine needed replacing at the end of each summer
luanching was okay
recovery a night mare
Much later I had a 15 ft six seafarer
okay for two to sleep on
lovely roller trailer that could pick up the boat from the ground
towed a treat behind the escort
In future I would buy another as towing it was a doddle
however, now that Mac are going to give me a Discovery and a free boat towing will be easy
what colour discovery shall I ask for?
Dylan
