Does anyone else have this policy? If so have you had a big price increase in your policy renewal?

pantaenius
see or do search on the forum.. first year good quote . three years later ooophs . major up set.and if you have an old boat don,t bother. if you have a 100k boat+ then less of a problem. its all the on costs you see. and sir you have a thirty year old boat. the german underwriters determine the premium, not my problem sir.
---k off ,don,t bother me. go to amlin ( St Margarets)better service.

Sorry I realise rereading that it's not clear - in fact it is a private health insurance plan offered by Pantaenius (issued by Allianz) to liveaboards, it's not boat insurance.

I received my renewal policy today from Allianz Ireland (Pantaenius just market it) for payment on 01/03/2012! The premium went up from €1,1100 to €1,560 which is a 41.8% increase!
I will sleep over it but my gut feeling is to cancel.
I was given the name of an Australian insurance company which also caters for the international cruising people but seem to have lost it, any advice on who insures international non-US sailors?Roger

I've just taken 6 month's europe wide health & repatriation out with Pantaenius for £155. Actual policy is with Towergate. Presumably cost increases with extent over cover - geographical & eventualities.

Well that's interesting, ours is in pounds sterling and we reckon it's an increase of almost 50%! I think all policies are renewable on 1st March - it's a bit rich letting everyone know just 2 days before, especially as they take the annual fee automatically so you have no chance to say yes or no (ok they say you have 30 days to cancel but they take the money in the first place). Would also be very interested to know about this Australian policy, or any others around of a similar nature, as we too are inclined to cancel.

That's much cheaper than the likes of AXA PPP. But then I don't know the policy differences.
