I didn't say it was, none the less, the facts would appear to support GrahamM376 assertion that it *is* illegal in France to use POI's of Speed Camera sites.

    Maybe they do.

You posted a quote and asked a question. I answered the question with regard to the quote you posted.

I didn't answer someone else's question or answer with regard to a quote that you might dig up from somewhere else at a later stage.

It's clear from reading this thread that you are a troll, so back under your rock (which is no doubt under your bridge).

I think we should let Toad loose in the Med, east of Italy. Without proof of competence they won't lock him up, but it will take time to obtain qualifications before he can sail. And a bit of cash.

Am I correct in thinking that the RYA actually has vested interest in promoting all this bureaucracy? It certainly looks to me like the only ones that will be able to sail & enjoy themselves before long will be bureaucrats & lawyers

Actually, Britain is one of the few exceptions in that we don't need any qualifications to use boats under 24m LOA at sea. I guess we worked on the Darwinian principle in the past.
since the Channel is one of the most challenging cruising grounds in the world, the incompetent are quickly frightened into giving up
It's many other countries with incredibly easy sailing conditions which insist their citizens are licensed before they roam salt water.

Do you have your own bridge, or do you and Toad live together under the same one ?
