One guy named his boat after his wife "Brilliant Shag", she was not pleased.

I remember seeing a Fireball when some were being built / designed by Virgin ( nothing to do with R.Branson ! ) - with a rather attractive young lady crew; the name of the boat written all over the side ? " She's a Virgin'.
Don't know if this was elaborated on as time went on.

I met one called dx/dt (pronounced velocity). His second boat was called d2x/dt2 (acceleration)
Then there was Cutlet - owned by a butcher: cutlets paid for it so that's what it's going to be called.
And one called 'Boatfile'. Distinct lack of imagination there.
When we got our first boat my Dad wanted to call it Blunt End (where do you paint the name on a dinghy?). In the end we called it Adagio and that's how it went - slowly. One hull good, two hulls better.
