I think we were both led into this argument by some others, little tinkers them
anyway the poll is set, we will find out if it is just me bothered about this or if it is more widespread among your clients (widest sense, Im confident your clients trust you).

You could be right, for what its worth I feel sucked in to this argument too.
As you know a Yacht Broker did rip me off a few years ago , perhaps that affects my judgement, I am usually very trusting in general.
The poll is set, we will soon find out if it is just me or if others feel the same way.
In the mean time I am going to do my PAYE returns, its more interesting

True story .........
several years ago HMC&R wanted small employers to file on line and gave cash incentives to encourage this.
£200 year 1
£150 year 2
£50 year 3
Some got their wives to file a nil return (for the gardener) in order to bag the £400
Is that embezzlement , or just an attempt to p1 55 the HMR&C off

But, as I recall he was a trader - and he did not run off with your money from his client account! (of course my memory could be at fault).
Nobody is denying there are crooks about, just not crooks in the way you think, nor is your proposal likely to deal with the (almost non-existent) problem.

I'm thinking of starting a brokerage in the murky (to me) world of motor boats.
I'll do the face to face broking
Tranona will be in charge of technical issues and compliance
and JFM will be in charge of contracts and finance (although he'll never take the wage cut)
Any takers?John Rodriguez Yachts. Cruising & Bluewater Yachts www.jryachts.com

This http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=249638 would have made a program of its own.
Takes a bit of following but in brief a well known marine company sell a boat that gets osmosis within 2-3 years and sell it on, the boat is then passed around the country between Yacht Brokers as it is used in the hustle by several Yacht Brokers as the boat is passed between brokers up and down the country..
