    Default Stowing heavier items

From a boat stability point of view, is it better to stow weight in the lockers low down and near the the centre line and under the berths, or in lockers that are higher up but at the beam ends? The sorts of things that come to mind are bottles of drink; tins of food etc. rather than spare anchors and chain!

Have a feeling this was discussed a while ago, but cannot find the thread.

    Low down and central.

Look up 'polar moment of inertia'.
Next time, it'll all be different.

keep the weight near the centre line, mid ships.
Thats where our tanks are under the saloon berths
I may be wrong but not always
