If you insist. Here I am breaking the speed limit wide open - 7 gps knots over the river bed. Hope no one tells the Police.

Nope. 45+ Gallons an hour.45 squids an hour!!!
Depending on where you buy your fuel, I reckon it'll be nearer £300 per hour.
That would make your raggies cry into their drink.
Bloke on the next pontoon to me has got 2 x 300hp Verados on his 10 metre Cougar.
Fuel consumption on that would make your raggies cry into next week :-)

Look at it like this.
It's cheaper and probably (though I can't definitively confirm this bit) more exhilarating than a night with Sophie Anderton, and the Mrs. can come along & enjoy the hoot aswell.

Funny, I can't see the exciting part of the rooster tail per se, but I do see the satisfying side of the equation - namely, speed.
Surface transmissions/props are the most efficient system known to mankind for going fast on the water.
If you think anyone would fork out the dosh necessary for these equipment just for the sake of some show off, you obviously don't know how expensive they are...
