    Rudder was used for sailing, while steering oar was for rowing during final approach of the whale.

    ..... and presumably for hanging on once the whale had been harpooned, to survive the "Nantucket Sleigh Ride"

    Any idea if she was sold to private owner or to a company, and if she will stay in the UK?

    I would be very interested to make an arrangement with the buyer and try to return her to the Azores.
