This report https://yachtharbour.com/news/17m-ya...page_bar_pos_3 suggests that the boat was left unattended at anchor whilst the owner visited the Cannes boat show, the wind blew up and the boat was washed on to the beach

Whilst I have some sympathy for the owner, weather forecasts for the area are usually excellent and the owner should have known that a strong onshore wind was due and not left his boat unattended whilst at anchor

Luckily he was a mobo would have been much worse with a big keel to rotate the boat over.

Its amazing that the p brackets werent pushed through the hull on grounding and the boat was able to be driven off. Anyone know whether the Sundeck has a keel? In fact perversely its quite a good advert for the strength of the boat!

Looks like it had quite a shallow draft and a keep. Impressive range too!

If it was anchored and then dragged into the beach, why do the photos show the anchor still in the bow roller instead of a chain leading off to seaward?

The boat seems to have traditional shafts with no protection. There must have been some damage.

One of the videos in the OP's link shows the anchor deployed
