    Default Marine Dash Cam

Does anyone make a waterproof marine one ?

Now it's winter, thought I could sit back and watch the season's sailing together with how many times
I stood on when I shouldn't have done. Oh how we could laugh at other sailors reactions.
It is never too late to have a happy childhood. Buy a boat.

You need one that is waterproof to 10m. After that it doesn't matter.
If I'd wanted to live in a Banana Republic I'd have gone to South America.

A Go-Pro or equivalent Chinese copy in a waterproof case should do the trick

Do any of these allow editing before transfer to a PC? I ask because on my cheapo waterproof camera I have to upload perhaps 15 minutes of video at a time into my editing programme, and that takes ages, so I wouldn't want to be doing it with a whole hour's worth or more.
Far away is near at hand in images of elsewhere

I bought a Chinese Go-Pro copy off ebay for this purpose, cost about 40 IIRC.
Has a waterproof case and everything.
Only problem is with the waterproof case on the audio is very poor.
Slightly better with the case on but the vented back on as well.
Video quality is very acceptable , 1080p

I have an SJ4000 (Go-Pro clone) with a waterproof case for motorcycles 'cos it has a waterproof power connection (USB). That means it is not limited by the life of the battery, now only the memory card. Nice images.

Most if not all the go pro clones use a micro SD card for image storage, so downloading from a card inserted into a laptop doesn't take many minutes. Most of them don't have a screen, so the only way to view the images for editing is to download them to a pic anyhow.
