    Somewhere in the back of my mind.......what size is it, does it open down and stop, if so where? The screw holes aren't big enough to support much weight.

    Yes, the stop for the can end, the semicircular hole to stabilise it, but why? Surely if you can crush it with that you can stand on it, there's little mechanical advantage.

    I think its one of those devices for nipping cold fingers. They usually draw blood and the purpose of this is to remind you that you have no elastoplasts in your first aid box....

    Forum comes good again ! Thanks so much for that. Interestingly the previous owner was going off round the world in the yacht so maybe that's why he had it. I can now throw it away !! (unless anyone wants it.....)

    No, that won't do. We expect you to drink a few cans of beer and then test it before reporting back. It's a few days since New Year's Eve and the A & E departments will be fairly quiet!
