    Default Hairy Bikers do Sardinia

Just watched some catch up TV and it brought back some fond memories.
This is the link to BBC iPlayer
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09m8hw5
    Particularly from 8min 40secs to 25min 18secs
    Carloforte and Tuna fishing

But stop the video ate 8min 45 secs - anyone recognise the ferry?
Tip you can see her old name on her bow if you stop the video at that point.

Sorry for those of you who are not in the UK - maybe you can get hold of a VPN connection to watch it.
BBC iPlayer is only available inside the UK.

I'm afraid that the Hairy Bikers have their own way to present beautiful places.
They have masses of enthusiasm that makes up for the way that they present these places.
A really light hearted programme that I recommend watching.

Mike, I watched the programme the other night and was going to post the same link. It's worth a watch to appreciate why MapisM keeps his boat there and why others (including myself) raved about the place when we joined him there for a while a couple of years ago.

Mike, is the featured restaurant the one we visited on our last night? MapisM, it's run by someone called Andreas. The food was superb (I loved the raw Tuna done three ways). I can't recall being offered Tuna testicles but I'd have given them a go!

I do hope to return, wither by boat or perhaps rent a sports car and spend a week touring the islands.

Unfortunately it will have to wait until I get back to the UK but I think I know the ferry question. I will leave it somebody else to answer!

We watched it and loved it. Really looking forward to next week and Corsica. Mike keep your eyes pealed for ideas. Once you get back I will pull together the planning lunch.

And that is my 1000th post!

Yep - I really enjoyed the programme.
As I said, it brought back fond memories.

In the film, the bikers love the views whilst riding to the north tip of the island.
I remember the same feeling - except I was on my electric bicycle!!

And this is the colour of the water there - near the Tuna pens.

And only a short bike ride from the (only) town on the island - Carloforte.
I'm sure we will be back sometime.

Unless you've got Sky in which case it is available ... ... can't get it on my computer though - somehow they know that's in France whereas Sky doesn't ... oops!

Ha! After seeing your first pic, I thought 'that looks just like the IOW car ferry'....

I'll have to find a quiet night in to catch up on the iplayer. Thanks for posting.
