    Default Mist!

It was a bit misty out there today!

Couldnít see more than a boats length in the Ore for most of the day.

Went down to the enterence in the hope of a clear patch but alas nothing. We could not even see the banks of the river and just missed a boat anchored in the centre of the river fishing on the way back. The most worring thing was we didnít see him at all on the way down.

It was a regular pea souper in Southwold, for most of the day we couldn't see the Harbour Inn from our mooring across the river.

That's a pity, I was relying on you for some first-hand info about the entrance!
Bright and sunny on and off down here on the Kent coast. Boat still on the hard today unfortunately, but tomorrow we will be afloat again.

You must have been up late! We couldn't see the big ships or cranes from our berth (Shotley) until gone midday!

I've sailed on a clear day, then seen the mist tumbling and rolling off the shore. Then I became enveloped in it. I could barely see the bow of the 26' boat from the aft cockpit, and could see nothing beyond. I liken it to being trapped inside a table tennis ball. It's an experience I love to recall, but would have no wish to repeat

How about crossing the TSS in the Dover Straights hearing 5 fog horns.. Three somewhere ahead.. and two somewhere aft .. all upstream of us and coming our way?

Sailed back from Brightlingsea to Tollesbury yesterday, worst visibility just after the Moliette when it went down to about 200 metres or so.
It seemed to be rolling banks of the stuff.
