In case anyone's interested ...despite its omission from "Welcome Anchorages" (again), the visitor mooring at Easdale is still there. It's a yellow hippo buoy near (nearest) the ruined pier and has a nice pickup and solid strop attached. Payment is at the Puffer or to an honesty box on the ferry waiting room on Easdale.

The only downside is that it's close to the ferry route which to my jaundiced eye appears to shift significantly closer if they think someone is on board. Perhaps that's just paranoia. The wash isn't much of a problem.

Word is that service at the Puffer is even more restricted than before - food from 6 - 7pm only, pre-booking with 25% deposit essential. We ate with friends in their house; the Puffer was very nice last year.
