When we visit Poole and start to run out of supplies or are desperately in need of a shower we sometimes do a short stay at the Quay boat haven. This year, I think, it cost us 6.50 (28ft boat) for 4 hours. Plenty of time to shop, have a look round and a shower.
Poole is gorgeous until you need to re-stock.
Another option is to go up to Ridge Wharf on the Frome (23 for the night) then the dinghy up to Wareham for shopping.
It looks like Redclyffe yacht club may well have visitors berths (up to 20).

    Giblets, chum,

are you familiar with all the background of the ' fuel barge ' ?

    alahol2,

thanks, good info; but I'd be very surprised if Redlyffe YC has spaces available, they normally fill all the berths whenever there's a summer gale, so seeing as it's a bank holiday with the schools out and grot forecast it might be worth checking first...01929 551227

Though if you're staying aboard there should be moorings in the river available to grab - I'd think one's chances at the town quay would be rather slim.
