Default Independent assessor for ICC in Turkey ?

Hi all - a quick reach out to the masses - long time since I've been on here !

I'm looking to bareboat a yacht in Gocek / Marmaris next May ( I have qualifications / experience / ICC) and we are wanting an assessor to to join us on the last day to assess one of the crew for an ICC.

    is this possible ?

Do boats have to be a certain standard / regulation to be used during an assessment?
Is this beyond the realms of a normal respectable Bareboat charter Yacht?
We have found one or two companies hat will let us do a week on their boat with the assessor for a week.
We are hoping for something a little different.

There was a chap on here called kaptainkrunchie who might have fit the bill and have messaged him without a reply - all contributions welcome !

No prerequisites for the boat - I did mine on my old Eventide! However the assessor must be RYA approved, so call the RYA for advice.

According to the application form, the assessment can be conducted by an RYA affliilated club or Recognised Training Centre.

The form needs to be signed by the assessor, noting their applicable RYA qualification (Crusing Instructor or above) and approved by the Principal, Chief Instructor or Flag Office.

    Hi Paddy

    This is Kaptain Krunchie!!

Unfortunately, I have now retired so am unable to do ICC assessments.

There is a guy in Gocek who works with Gocek Sea School called Alex Cockshott who may be able to carry out an assessment for you. He is on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/alex.cockshott or contact him via the school http://www.portwayturkey.com/
    Sorry I can't help.

I enquired about this for a friend last year and there were none available in the Gocek area. But as mentioned contacting the RYA directly is probably the best route.

Hiya. Dont know if you have seen the application form but downloaded it tells you what you need to know. A copy each for your chaps will help get them prepared.

    https://www.rya.org.uk/SiteCollectio...ICC%20Form.pdf

    Good luck to them.
