Just a little update, while in hospital I had an agency nurse who turned out to be trained to assist in transplant surgery etc. who introduced me to a new Glucose meter that doesn't involve sticking needles in your fingers every five minutes, has enabled blood sugar control while on TPN at night far easier & a lot more accurate.
For those with diabetes may be of interest.

Had a bit of a scare this week, spent 4 hours in a corridor after ambulance dropped me off at southend A&E, not as if I had a broken finger nail, ended up feeling better & Nicky took me back home were I was safer.
Now spoken to consultants & back to London on Thursday for blood & iron , more scans & consult with latest surgeons, fingers crossed.

Southend A&E isn't the best at the moment, is it your local?

Thanks for sharing info on the glucose monitor

Yes unfortunately, they had a big hand in all this by getting it wrong in 2003, its why I'm in London all the time.
