You could take a picture of Reeds on your phone and have the best of both worlds

Worked perfectly for me. Now I've got Dover high tides, and I can add any others as I need them.
    Thank you for this, Airscrew.
(... and I still have Reeds for use on the boat when the battery dies..)

Is there any chance one of you knowledgeable people could set out, in English, instructions on how to do this on my I Phone? Please remember you are writing these instructions for someone who thinks a megabite is what you take out of a bar of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk.

    Thanks in advance.

You do realise that you just do the 'p. sing about' just once per port, then it's on your device for the year? You can clearly read, the instructions are not hard to follow, it takes zero knowledge of coding or how how computers work. You can think of it as the digital equivalent of looking up the index of Reeds, then when you open your calendar, the digital equivalent of flipping the pages to the date of interest.

Obviously, if you just use your phone for making calls, then you might not actually have a smart phone and as such I agree you would just be 'p. sing about'. If you do have a smart phone and only use it for calls, then you are really wasting your money and subscription on a device. A bit like owning a sailing yacht and motoring everywhere.

I've no special skills but I looked up how to add an url calendar, i.e. a calendar from the internet. This worked on my iPhone 6s.

    1) Follow Airscrew's instructions down to the bit where he talks about you setting up your calendar.
    2) On your iPhone go to settings, Passwords & Accounts, Add Account, Other, Add Subscribed Calendar.
    3) Where it asks for a server, type in (or copy in) the following URL as described by Airscrew:
    webcal://tides.mobilegeographics.com/ical/2089.ics
where 2089 is the 4-digit code for Dover
    4) Enter, check it is the calendar you wanted, then Save
    5) Open your calendars and there it is!

(That worked for me, I hope I've got all the steps ..)

After the 4Th go at getting the first bit typed in I got " no internet" so that was 6 minutes wasted.

I really really hate b..dy smart phones --especially on the Dengie area where one might be better off with 2 coke cans & a bit of string
It is all down to the fact that my wife does not understand me !!

Coke cans are rubbish, Heinz Baked Bean cans are far better.

    Airscrew, thank you for that.
I've corrected it in my post (for posterity).
    Great link, btw.
