Default Map Of Aquaculture Sites in Scotland (Fish Farms, Mussel Farms etc)

The links below are to the Scottish Government's, Natural Scotland aquaculture resource site. Of particular interest to sailors in Scottish waters is the map feature where you can filter what the map shows.

    http://aquaculture.scotland.gov.uk/default.aspx

Worth consulting as part of a passage plan as not all will be shown on charts or plotters if they are not maintained up to date.

    Enjoy!

Excellent resource. One residual doubt I have is cases where farms have been discontinued - how much if any ground tackle has been removed?
I don't know what legal requirements are, but just removing the surface evidence and dropping the rest to the seabed sounds like an easy option for a failed business venture. There are a LOT of inactive locations....

Crown Estate Scotland rents the seabed to many (most?) fishfarms. Their requirement for boat moorings is that everything is removed when a mooring is given up. The mooring owner should fill in a form saying that's been done and submit it to CES.

I expect they have the same requirement for aquaculture but ...
What happens if the fishfarmer goes broke?
What if someone fills in the form but doesn't do the work?

I know CES checks but I don't think they do it often. They have also conducted seabed clearances in popular anchorages occasionally (e.g. Poldoran yes I can't spell it).
