    If so, is the hose double clipped each end and if that is also true, are they set 180 to each other so they tighten on opposite sides of the hose?

    Old exhaust hose tends to harden which makes sealing difficult. If it is more than say 5-10 years old consider replacing it.
    If I'd wanted to live in a Banana Republic I'd have gone to South America.

    Thanks that was helpful. I will look at a new more flexible hose, rotating the clips 10 180 deg and then sikaflex

    Fixed with better quality hose clamps, those that wrap all the way around and have a bolt
