You might find the lower Crouch quite busy. Royal Burnham Yacht Club are holding their Easter Regatta, the best info I could find was here.

Kacecar is spot on, the Ferry Boat is currently closed until (if they finish on time, they've barely started!) September for major works including an extension, internal reconfiguration and exterior improvements

The cafe / bar at the marina is back open under new management

Or take a walk across the fields to the Prince of Wales at Stow Maries.
Life is too short to drink bad wine.

Good grief man, that's over three and a half miles each way! If the gods had meant us to walk that far they would have given us wheels instead of feet

Excellent trip up and especially back.
Not a pot marker to be seen.
Excellent lunch in Burham Yacht club.
Assorted groups went to The Oyster Smack and the Thai.
Very welcoming and friendly in the Swallowtail but a tad expensive, perhaps that was just muggins picking up a bill for six.
Coming across the Whitaker at LW proved challenging .
