About 1500 miles to get past NZ..... and she has to sail 500 miles south east ( about 4 degrees of Lat ) to get under Tasmania.....

If you want a Northern comparison think Biscay in November....

Rather more like Newfoundland to Iceland, in November. Biscay's under 400nm....

She's some chicken! Do have a read of her latest blog-post here

Jeanne is in a bad place now but seems still committed to going South to get around the 'great cape ' of Tasmania.

I don't know which will be worse, South of Tasmania or the strait between Tasmania and Australia.

Still with no mainsail and little chance of a calm spell to finish the repair and get it from the cabin to the mast and hoist it.

This looks like a typical autumn/winter weather pattern.... and hopefully brings drought breaking rains to SE Australia... http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/charts/4day_col.shtml

But not so good if one is at sea west of Tasmania...

I have had a look at both models for the next week on Windy and both are how you say? ...interesting?

Low comes over the top of you.. can go from NW to SE or SW just like that..

BoM only forecasts out 3 days..http://www.bom.gov.au/tas/forecasts/...estcoast.shtml

    Another cape down..

Friday 3rd May at 23:55:57 GMT = 9:56am Saturday 4th May LT! We passed the SE Cape of Tasmania - our Fourth Great Cape of the Southern Ocean on this voyage.

We're now officially back in the Pacific Ocean!

    Party time!!
She sounds pretty chilled out about it all, doesn't seem she's the one that's worried...
