    Default Odd pets on board

My daughter's already asking for a "cat room" on our next boat. Hope the lad doesn't ask for a coop...

Best story I've heard in a while.

I often see a large modern motorboat leaving Port Solent with the owner's parrot perched on his shoulder.

Bloke I knew with a nice Colin Archer woody (real one, not a copy) had a cat on board. Don't remember the breed, but it would attack anybody who came on board if the skipper was not there. Savage little bu++er.
And, just remembered, another cat. Lived on a boat on a swinging mooring. If it fancied going ashore it jumped over and swam. Getting back was more tricky with the freeboard, so it would climb in the dinghy and moan until the owner noticed and pulled in the painter.

We had to make do with cockroaches. Oh, and a rat.
