    Default Swedish Cable Specification

I have what appears to be an original electrical cable from the 1980’s on my boat. The marking (below) I believe relates to a legacy Swedish standard that has now been superseded.

    BFY SEMKO <HAR> F3

Is anyone familiar with this spec, what is the equivalent AWG/ISO reference please?

    Thanks.

SEMKO Stands for “Svensk Elektrisk Materiell Kontroll”, they used to approve all electrical components. The rest I don’t know what is.
Would be better to find the load on the cable and select based on that.

HAR is a standardization marking for cables manufactured in Europe.

I think F3 might have to do with the degree of fire resistance.
Not sure about BFY, but unlikely to tell you anything about the cable specification.
There ought to be some other kind of marking.
