Sorry to P on the bonfire so to speak but, have you been up to that part of the itchen river ?
Have you seen all the sea gypsies that are moored illegally right next to the dry stack ?
Kemps ok, but there no way Id want to keep a boat anywhere near that lot of wino thieving gits !!
You need security, your best bet that far up river is shamrock quay, 2nd is Kemps! Forget the others for any long term plan !!!

Certainly at Foulkes all the berth holders benefit tremendously from the presence of the live aboards. They are the best security available IMHO, indeed the place is a real community. Decent pubs just a few minutes away by foot, car or dinghy too.
Interested in Corvettes PM me for details of the Corvette Motorboat Association

I have no experience of ocean quay hence I never mentioned it. I was referring to the yards further up river!

I wouldn't want to live there, quite exposed to some wind directions.

Ref Foulkes Boatyard. I'm afraid though that the yard owners idea of customer service is pretty non existant.
Barge pole and don't touch springs to mind.

no different to the bottom end of shamrock. I was in there for 3 or 4 years, I remember 1 blow in that time that was uncomfortable, but only 1.

Have now moved (back) to shamrock but only for the MDL benefits not because i hated OQ.
