    Default Mixing solar panels.

I have two panels wired in series one of which has failed. I notice that output has increased for much the same dimensions. Any problems mixing panels of different capacities?

What sort of regulator/controller are you using ?

I suspect that output V from both the new and the old will be IRO 18 - 20V DC. Have you tested the two panels' open circuit V ?

A good controller will cope with two inputs differing by ~=2V.
I think, therefore I am. I am, therefore I sail.

Yes, you can, but the specifics of your panels, the charge controller and the wiring are important if you want to use the extra capacity of newer panels.

It's a 30amp mppt controller with the panels wired in series so only one input. Can't tell you what the ocv is cos one is broke innit😀
