    On the unofficial website.
    " some Environment Agency staff, including Upper Medway Navigation Staff may take industrial action on pre-planned days. All staff will be able to remove themselves from their rostered duty shifts on these days between specific times."


    1700 hrs 17th May - 09
    ...............Wonder whats going on.Taking boat up to Maidstone up this morning will see if anybody is happy to explain what problem is.
    Anybody else got any info ?



    1700 hrs 17th May - 0900 hrs 18th May 2019
    1700 hrs 24th May - 0900 hrs 25th May 2019
    1700 hrs 31st May - 0900 hrs 1st June 2019
    1700 hrs 7th June - 0900 hrs 8th June 2019

    understand itís something to do with a pay dispute re new rates imposed late last year.

    Had quick natter with lock staff.
    Lockie was on his mobile dealing with a couple of problems as we chatted , the pump out out at Yalding was reluctant to work, you need to be patient and a new bog seat was desperately needed elsewhere.
    Who was going to pay for the seat was also discussed, to save much time and trouble it is quicker if the lockies fit it.
    Basic complaint is about renumeration,for many years they had beem limited to 1% increase.
    Only two lockies have onsite accomodation all the rest live elsewhere.
    Action is basically limited to out of normal hours cover.
