Default Water bags. How long do yours last?

We have 2 water bags on our boat about 20litres each. Polythene bladder inside a square bag. They seem to last 3 to 4
years then spring a leak. How do other users find them?

    I think ours are Plastimo.

My mistake. They appear to be 50L each.

The bags are both suspended from the loops so shouldn't move to much. I haven't yet investigated whether it is a bag leak, inlet or outlet issue.

I don't like the design of our current bags with inlet in the centre of one bag and outlet on the other side. Slightly lower down. I would rather they were both on the same side.

I also have one about that age that is leaking. It is in a locker and quite secure. Only discovered it just before launch so analysis will have to wait until it is completely empty.

In eight years I've gone through three triangular bow bags (Plastimo, or very similar.) They split at the aft end seam.
I can't fathom out why because once in place they can't move and are in a fully protected locker-type space below my sails.
The rectangular quarter-berth bag has never given any trouble.

If I was better at crafting from GRP I'd make a custom designed/built rigid bow "tank".

This won't help the OP, but at least he won't feel alone in his plight

I had a bag in our Sadler for 14 years which showed no sign of deterioration. I don't know what the material was but it was blue with a fabric texture. A neoprene bag on a previous boat split after some ten years.

The current water tank 100L (?) rectangle from Plastimo had the bladder replaced about 10 years ago. Had an outlet leak underneath about 2 years after fitting. Redid the connection with some silicone grease added and it's been good since.
