Default ATYC. West India Dock Event.

Have just spoken to the very helpful chap at the Dockland Scout Project regards RCC putting in an appearance again this year.
Thanks to Tony and Andrew for your help.
Everybody in club thoroughly enjoyed our last visit, lots of interest in going up again.A number of club members have delayed a Thames visit and will be calling in on their way back from the upper Thames.
Hope to see other forumites there. ?

8000 boats on the Thames and not a single one going.. even though its ATYC event.
Rumour is that only a handful of boats could be bothered to turn up at their last organised event even though it was on the blimming doorstep.
Dragons beyond Teddington syndrome, apathy or far to busy keyboard whinging about EA to be bothered.
Why are folks not going ?

Crawl back into your bilges and stop stirring the sludge. Probably not that many ATYC members watching this forum and even fewer participating - mores the pity.

a cynic might wonder that if a comforting number of EA staff and volunteers, all standing smartly to attention on the lock side with outstretched arms to take your ropes, were in attendance, the sentiment might be a little different. ?

More details for Merdeway boaters...and anybody else wanting to go along. Not member of an organised club ?
Might be worth contacting WID to see if you can tag along, however clubs attending usually do pay mooring fees in advance.

Have to admit to expressing an interest via a club, just waiting for the cost to be confirmed.

"probably" around £25.00 per night ???? . More boats that go, cheaper it will be .
Three nights mooring with power and water for less than one night in a certain marina just up the road.

If your first time do have a couple of decent long warps for locking in.
Bits of short string employed by non tidal Thames boaters usually insufficient.
    Its a deep old lock.
Or do what the old hands do, hang around until the newbies have struggled to get their lines up.......and moor on them.
