Besides Coke, what else do you drink with rum on the boat? Thanks

    Kalamansi juice. A real killer.

    Not sure of spelling.

    Orange juice.

Coconut milk, not water (which was a favourite (I believe) of the UK Marines when in a location where coconuts were available). It was maybe called 'a big boys milk shake'.

    Ice

And we never, ever, have coke on the boat. If you want it - you bring your own.

Ginger beer - a dark and stormy. Lime juice optional, and it needs a GB with serious bite, not the sugary rubbish.

    Tonic
Rum + lime + ginger beer = Dark n' Stormy. Best made with Gosling's Black Seal Rum.
If really good stuff ie Appleton's Estate, just a dash of water.
French Rhum Agricole. Add cane syrup, and half a lime squidged with a teaspoon for a Petite punch.
    Classic rum punch.
    'One of sour,
    Two of sweet,
    Three of strong,
    And four of weak.

Lime juice, cane syrup, rum, and ice. Grate nutmeg on top. No grenadine, that's for the tourists.

I have studied this subject intensely over the past 30-odd years.

The optimal way to consume rum? Hack the top off a young coconut. Preferably one which fell in front of you as you were standing on a beach. Pour in rum. Drink with (reusable) straw.

I've tried and tried and failed to improve this. Squirt of lime? Bitters? pineapple juice? It's perfect as it is.

If you don't happen to have a coconut, the stuff in cartons is ok.

I'm also not adverse to a dark and stormy and am particularly partial to mjoitos

The rum goes in the very yummy Tiramisu the 1st mate makes. Then we have a nice glass of Port or Mandorla (Sicilian - bit like Port but with almond flavour) to drink.

I thought we were meant to be having rum with sodomy and the lash??? Yet another thing outlawed by the bloody PC crowd no doubt.

You can't beat rum in a hot chocolate!
I have tried Lilleys chocolate and apple cider with a shot of Kraken in and it was blood gorgeous, not something to drink much of as it's very sweet but even to just sit and sniff was good.

I prefer rum diluted with rum.
