    OP here.

Many, many thanks for all of your helpful comments and suggestions....... I should have known!

Iím impressed that it has run for two pages though.

Incidentally I have subsequently discovered my hand held icon VHF has disappeared- anyone seen that?

Enough of the hat abuse! I lost my favourite hat too at the weekend, travelled all over with that one. I contemplated jumping in after it but single handed beating in F5 decided not to. Still gutted tho.

A US friend gave us a couple of Annapolis YC baseball caps (he is a member) but I cannot bring myself to wear one...

At my first visit to the Festival at Mor bihan, an English couple seemed to identify themselves with talking about their Tilleys. Sounded quite odd. Nice hats, but?

I had a crew that used to refer to Tilly hat wearers as Tilly twats, I dread to think what he would have called baseball wearing ones.

I lost my sun hat overboard while beating out of the Seine in our Sadler 29. A quick gybe and our hat-overboard drill worked perfectly. Just saying, boasting really.

Maybe, but being somewhat follicularly challenged, I'd rather be a totally idiotic looking lunatic yachty without skin cancer that a cool dude with.

I've never been able to see the point of a baseball cap on a boat. If you wear it the right way round, the wind gets under the peak and it goes swimming, wear it twat way round, and what's the point?
