    Gosh, I recognise that photo.. Either there was someone else about with a camera, or I've shot to fame at last! p
    As you can see, an Ovni, a strong aluminium boat and no harm done as I recall, just a few hours of discomfort.

    Looking at the photo there is an unusual "skeg" between the rudder and prop. I have never seen one like that before!

    I have seen this on some aluminium boats with lift keels, it is a dagger board aft

    It looks like an aluminium boat, but it is definitely not an Ovni, although it does have an Ovni-like arch. It has no chines and Ovnis are not painted

    Sorry for posting your photo! Dan Tribe claimed it above so I thought I was posting with the photographer's permission. Highly likely that several people snapped the scene however - not that we're all ghoulish but it is an interesting image...
