    Thanks for the recommendation. I have bought one, tried it at home, excellent whistle, nice pouring, good handle, ticks all the boxes. We will just have to take care not to fill it right up as our previous kettle is probably half the capacity and 2L takes quite a while to boil. Taken it to the boat and it fits nicely, not a modern wide base type.

    Yes, you need to be carefull not to overfill, When it starts boiling if it’s too full it will spew out boiling water and eject the whistle....

    Are you sure it is the kettle? I can't hear mine without my hearing aids in as they "sing" in the frequency range I have lost.
