Default Video of Mallorca Cruise: Princess 62, July 2019

    Hi All,

Here is a video of our cruise last week around Mallorca. The section where we were moved on by the Weed Police was not included

First outing with the drone (a DJI Mavic Air), so a bit more practice needed....

    A fabulous week though.

    Excellent
    Fantastic editing
Some of that footage is really difficult to get.
    Well done.
I have made videos like that but not as good.
I find drone filming over the sea very difficult.

That's really kind - thank you.

I agree - it's hard! I'm more nervous flying the drone than I am berthing the boat in a new marina. What I found really disorientating is when the boat is swinging at anchor, I kept thinking the drone was moving, but of course it was us moving....I'm going to try to practise my flying more over the next few months, so then I can concentrate on filming rather than trying not to crash.....particularly into the masts of passing sailboats which terrified me....

Very enjoyable and reminded me of some of our old haunts when we berthed in Majorca. Do you have a gyro?

Very nicely shot and edited. I liked the speed ups- are you using adobe premiere to get them that smooth? Very nice anyway. Easy to spot carbrera, mandrago, Cala d’or and portals vells.

Looked like you could use fins or a gyro at 1.56

Good spot - it was Final Cut Pro (as I use a Mac) and it's using the "speed ramp" tool. I realised that the original footage has to be very smooth for the speed ramp to look decent so need to be less heavy handed on the drone controls next time. But it's a good way to get in quite a bit of footage without having a 30 second long clip....

Yes we could have done with stabilisers on this trip! The east coast is always so rolly compared to the Bay of Palma, but worth it for those Calas......
