We had beer ,steak f&c etc at Isaac's on the quay. Not expensive and was OK. It's a big pub but service was good. It was mid week but was busy.

I regret to say that I recently found Ipswich a bit of a good food desert, so will be interested to see any recommendations.
A bit of a shame really as although I still think of Ipswich as my ‘home town’ none of my recent visits have tuned up any culinary delights.

We always found the Last Anchor to be very good although (disclaimer) we haven't been there for a year or so...

If you like Chinese food, I can definitely recommend the 92 Noodle Bar, close to the harbour. The speciality dishes are very good indeed - a definitive cut above your usual, generic Chinese place.

Good pub grub in the Plough, Dog's Head Street, corner by the bus station.

Twenty5. Nice little bistro away from the overpriced waterfront restaurants. Best to book.
