The correct flagging of the vessel comes und UK Law not Croatian Law. The vessel is not correctly flagged. Does is matter? Well he's breaking the law, and he's a twat. If he's ok with that then so am I.

There are limited circumstances when a British ship must wear the National ensign.

Sitting at anchor isn’t one of them.

The boat is in Croatia, how do you know it’s a UK vessel? What law is he or she breaking?

Check your geometry. If you measure the average spacing and diameter, you get a number close to 15. You cannot see all of the stars due to folds.

    Dumb thread anyway.

I care because it's a well sheltered bay with a great restaurant and an owner who dinghies over to collect us at 19:00 at takes us back once we've had a few carafes too many.

If I didn't care about where we stay, I might find myself anchored alongside a grumpy old curmudgeon. Where are you anchored, by the way?

That's true .... you get the number 12 which is, indeed, pretty close to 15.

For a dumb thread, it's providing a lot of entertainment for you, me and a lot of others. Don't knock it .... this might be the only time in your life that you've brought a little joy into the lives of others.

One of the last defaced blue ensign warrants from HM to a club ? and we have the letter to prove it.
Suspect they may have gave it to us simply to make us go away and stop bothering them.

But the real question is: Is a defaced blue ensign with a circle of EU stars in the middle actually legal tender?

Should I dinghy over and perform a citizens arrest?

    Richard
Think I would rather dinghy over and share a glass or two.

Who knows, he may already be a contributor to Anything Brexit, if not you could invite him to join.

Rather than pay chandlery prices, I trust folk are aware that there are outlets, on line, where you can buy an ensign (including the one above) for the price of a pint.
