Default Recommendations for trustworthy diesel engineer, near North Fambridge, please?

I'd like some very basic help with a couple of 1967 BMC Commander diesels.

Are there any knowledgeable, trustworthy favourites around, please?

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Not offering help on this occasion but would be interested to know what they're fitted to? I look after a little twin screw Silvers with a pair of these in.

At the risk of thread drift my father had a 1931 Rampart in the late 50's which had a petrol BMC 3 litre 6 cylinder marinised engine. Sure it was called 'Commodore' in those days. Every so smooth. Based on the Austin Healey/Austin Westminster but was flat out at 2000 revs. Never seen once since.

    Hi Matt!

Apologies for the delayed reply..... it's been a hectic few days.

The engines are in our lovely 1967 Seamaster 34 'Arendala'.

She's not in the same classic league as the Silvers boat you mention, but she's been a wonderful boat for us: comfortable, stylish (in a gentlemanly, understated way, you understand), and perfectly behaved at sea.

We're now facing the dilemma of whether to keep her, or sell her.

We kept her in Limehouse, for nearly ten years, as a perfect London flat.

Times change, of course, and the fees at Limehouse steadily grew, until, for us, they became totally unjustifiable.

We haven't used her for three years now (as our Westerly Falcon is our 'main' boat), but parting with 'Arendala' will be a difficult decision.
