I was not aware of the Richborough landing stage in WW1 . I though it was just for the D Day
    push in WW2 .
Landing stage? It was rather more than a landing stage! It was a major port, for a few months the busiest port in the UK (Europe? Possibly even the world) built out of nothing in very little time in a totally unsuitable location (for reasons of secrecy)

Just noticed this series on catch up - the picture for the very first episode appears to have somebody on the lawn at RHYC with the club marina in the background yet the episode is set nowhere near there and I didn't have the patience to sit through it!

In similar vein, on a recent 'Saving Lives at Sea' episode they described a rescue out of Sheerness where the preamble describing the area included a drone shot of the Walton Channel from overhead Stone Point!
