    Default Windermere mast climber

Hi all, hopefully someone can help. Im looking for a contact for someone local to Lake Windermere who may be able to scale our mast and replace the windex and reposition the anemometer as both appear to have been struck by a passing bird!

    Thanks in anticipation.

I've got some gear here that is probably still OK. If you want to borrow it and go up yourself that's fine. (No need to return it)

That would be fantastic and very kind! Where abouts are you based and what have you got?

    Thanks

Perhaps you could sort something with Thomas Cook for them to pick up Coopec's gear? Perhaps Cathay might be a better bet, thinking about it.
Get in touch with Phil Evans - he'll sort it for you.

We broke aerial mount Maiden Marine lifted someone on their crane to replace it.

Cost 50 at the time. We could have lowered the mat using the wardens mast lift and done it ourselves but decided on the quicker and easier option.

I think it will help engender more useful responses if you define what sort of yacht you are talking about.

If the yacht is small you may simply be able to pull the mast down, heal the yacht) to something (top of a 4x4) and do the work yourself. Alternatively use a long ladder, use a mast climber (a ladder made from tape), make up prussic loops - the options are not quite, but almost, endless.

Find your nearest mountaineering /rock climbing club - and buy a slab of beer.

    etc etc

James Neil who is a boat builder/ repairer on Windermere went up my mast and fixed my Wind vane within 10 minutes. A VERY small charge he asked for as well. Highly recommended for all sorts of work on boats in the Windermere area.

Intrigued by the antipodean measurement for beer. We ageing imperialists tend to use the old imperial gauges over here - how many gills are there in a slab?
