Default Waeco CU 84 Thermostat problem?

We recently got back to our Bav 39, in Greece and find the fridge is cooling, but the compressor is running most of the time, even at night when itís reasonably cool. Iíve turned the Thermostat to its warmest setting and itís still cooling and still running most of the time, so I think itís a Thermostat problem.

Is there any way to check if the Thermostat operation?

Where is the Thermostat Probe fitted on these fridges?

    Thanks,

    John

    You need a re-gas.

The thermostat’s probe is inside the evaporator.

Plus 1 on this. If the compressor is running all the time then the box should freeze up if the compressor is working properly. There are some 'work around' thermostat problems ( on line) using cheap sensors and digital gauges but the bet is on the compressor.

Thanks for the steer- you’re both correct. I had it re-gassed earlier and everything is fine.

    Thanks again,

Did you find the leak ?

If not lather, rinse, & repeat this thread in 1 / 3 / 6 months.

Leaks do not go away just because you re-gas the fridge.

We didn’t find the leak, but it is 5 years since it was last re-gassed.
