I guess if you are moving from London it must seem like a rural idyll! Walks aplenty, wildlife, quiet (compared to the Metropolis). Years ago I met someone who had moved from the Smoke, he was thrilled that he could see the occasional tractor!
    Be nice.

The space ashore for the marina - parking boats, cars etc. - will be much reduced.

I grew up on, and now live again on, the Shotley Peninsula. It is a commonly held opinion, amongst us IP9 types, that Shotley is a bit of a dump. The waterfront and marina are its saving graces, but in general the place stinks of defeat.

I went to Holbrook school and none of the Shotley lot ever made it to boarding. The odd little day brat was almost always a Shotley hooligan.

Random question Fred.... how's the rudder bracket? I've got to do another and would like to know all is still well with the system.

fair comment. I should keep my anti-Shotley sentiments to myself. It’s very telling though, that when some likely lad changed the ‘o’ to an ’i’ in the Shotley sign, it stayed that way for nearly a year!

Remember the epic gossip rag produced at the Classic Boat Festivals, the 'Shitley Spot'?

All of the shoreside storage is going aside from that around the main block... they appear to be building all around the northern pool as well....

Glad we ainít sticking around through all that. Itís a nice spot now, but a construction zone wonít be fun.
