If the worst happens......I wonder if Greta will refuse to be rescued by a diesel cargo ship?

Vagabond will have probably 2 diesel heaters, which definitely won't be used in midwinter. Perish the thought. Let alone the two engines. How dare you.

There is also a long thread (60 posts to date) started by Webcraft in the Lounge re Greta's lift back to Europe - and of course there was a complaint that this thread is too boaty for the Lounge.

It's about not flying, not about being zero carbon.

I can't believe the amount of grief she gets, is she supposed to swim back? And if she's a puppet she does pretty well on her own in press conferences and interviews from what I've seen. A remarkable young woman and I for one wish her and everyone else on Vagabonde fair winds...

So she’s not perfect but she’s trying and the publicity for her cause “Don’t listen to me, listen to the science”, is a good thing.

That's their choice. Greta has made a personal commitment to not fly. What other people do is up to them.

I will be following their trip with interest. I would not fancy it at this time of year, even in a 46ft Outremer.
