Glad to hear you and your family are fine, although you must be absolutely gutted!!
Really sorry to hear about it.
Do they know what caused it yet?
Good Luck.
Cheers
Alistair.

Very, very sorry to hear that it was a forumites boat - esp as it was clearly used, enjoyed and loved ( and a member of the family).
What a buggar!

Re: Destroyed By Fire
Barry,
I know exactly how you feel.
The same thing happened to us last year.
You have my deepest sympathy. I have no problem in admitting that I was almost crying on the pontoon when I first saw our pride and joy burnt. The smell and the look is just awful.
Everybody talks about the insurance paying money and tells you you are lucky that nobody was hurt and these are things you don't want to hear at this moment. It takes time to get over it. Get rid of the remains as soon as possible and move to an other marina in the future.
And have that single malt!
All the best!

Re: Destroyed By Fire
It's very rare that any boat catches fire - thank God. But in the apparent absence of Brendan, I was doing the compulsory petrol boat owner's knee-jerk reaction thing..............
It's a real bummer for the owner, irrespective of the boat's fuel system and I fear, also, that once a boat is alight, it's the grp and resins in the hull that tend to fuel the flames.Itis apis spotanda bigon etoo
