    So how do I check what offset, if any, I have dialled into my tridata?

    go into it's menu - if it has one! If it hasn't you have raw transducer to sea bed reading.

    this was of course the norm when electronic depth guages appeared and many craft would have the relevant additional info on a card next to the unit - ie "this boat needs 5.6ft showing here to float"
